Rev. Duane Vaughn began his ministry at First Baptist Church on May 1, 2011.  Rev. Vaughn earned a BA degree in Systematic Theology and also holds a Practicing Business Management Degree.

Duane is married to Carol and they have two grown children, Chris and Danae, both of whom are married.

The Vaughn have pastored churches in the western US.  Their last pastorate was in Fallon, Nevada where they spent 17 years.  Rev. Vaughn became a Board Certified Healthcare Chaplain during the last 3 years in Fallon, Nevada and served as a chaplain at Churchill Community Hospital in Fallon.  In 2004, Rev Vaughn accepted a position as Director of Spiritual Care at West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell, Idaho where he developed a core of volunteer chaplains trained to serve the spiritual needs of patients and staff.  Following four successful years at West Valley, Rev. Vaughn served for two years as Director of Spiritual Care for a hospice in Fruitland, Idaho.

Rev. Vaughn is an ordained minister of the Gospel in Good standing since 1969.  His other accomplishments include a commission as a chaplain in the US Air Force, helping to create a law enforcement chaplain program in Cheyenne, Wyoming, helping start a hospice in Fallon, Nevada.  The US Navy called on Rev Vaughn to serve as the interim Protestant Chaplain at Naval Air Station Fallon for several months in 2003.  Rev Vaughn is on his second five year term as a Board Certified Healthcare Chaplain and a Board Certified Teaching Chaplain.

Rev. Vaughn is excited to bring his years of pastoral experience to Payette where his greatest call is to preach the Gospel and be a shepherd to the congregation.  Rev Vaughn enjoys being involved in the community as well as pastoring.
