If you delete all posts you will receive Error 404 as no posts will be found. It you want to change that behavior the other option is to set the “Home” page to a static page. This is done in the settings menu in the “Reading” section.

Remember that whenever you change site behavior – Test Your Changes – it can be difficult to identify problems as time passes or if you have more than 1 person making changes.
